King Pigeon Yoga is a perch for the urban body and mind. We practice with a peppery blend of breath-synchronized movement and long sustained holds. Sequences are carefully considered to offer a fulfilling experience within a real-life schedule. We integrate meditation, pranayama, asana, and philosophy into each class. With a little playful humor and a general sense of joy—expect to enhance internal muscular support, sharpen mental focus, increase breath awareness and capacity, and maintain a healthy physique. With all of these aligned, a positive and peaceful spirit will likely follow!

Anna Berkheiser is a registered Yoga Alliance instructor with 15 years on the mat. She fuses the energetic rhythm of Vinyasa flow with a classical Sivanada-inspired approach to being with stillness. Raised in the beautiful countryside of North Carolina and well seasoned by Brooklyn, she is now based in the Hudson Valley.

To enhance her teaching for all ages and bodies, she received her training in Pre- and Post-natal Yoga from ISHTA in NY, and has trained with Silver Age Yoga for Seniors in CA. Anna also teaches therapeutic Restorative Yoga community classes and is a certified Ayurvedic Yoga (AYM) practitioner.

She balances her yoga practice as an artist, designer, and NY Foundation for the Arts Fellow. Learn more.

Anna is also honored to be a resident Keeper at the historic Hudson River landmark, the Saugerties Lighthouse. Read more about the Lighthouse.

"Sitting much of the day as a designer, I looked to yoga to rejuvenate my body and soul in the wee bit of time I could spare in a day. I intensified my focus on yoga because I believe it's the most efficient movement to build graceful musculature, nurture achy joints, and open the heart…all while balancing the push and pull of city living. Eventually, I learned how to bring my practice into the rest of my day. I have a real passion for helping others breathe this peace into their own lives."
